In 2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 the Professional Skaters Association awarded the Ames Figure Skating Club the distinction of being designated an "Excellence on Ice" program. The AFSC is the first and currently only figure skating program in Iowa to receive this designation.

The PSA created this program to recognize clubs and rinks in which 100% of their coaches are PSA members. These coaches agree to abide by the PSA code of ethics, carry professional liability insurance, achieve professional advancement through continuing education and pursue advanced ratings in their area of expertise.

The Ames Figure Skating Club salutes their coaches and the excellent service they provide to figure skaters in our community. The Ames Figure Skating Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting figure skating and providing our membership with opportunities to advance in the sport of figure skating.
