Group Registration Details
Skaters will be placed in specific numbers by the Show Director based on the overall ability of the skater. The Show Director will consider all facets of the skater when determining their placement in the show including current Moves in the Field level, current Free skate level, number of competitions, skaters age, presence or performance ability on the ice, ice etiquette, overall attitude during classes, etc. All elements of a skater's abilities are carefully considered before placing them in the various group numbers. Skaters agree to accept any role for which they are cast.

Solo | Features | Duet/Trio
Skaters interested in these numbers will have minimum requirements they are expected to achieve during the 12 months preceding the annual ice show. These requirements help to establish that a skater has the experience to perform at the level expected for the show. Skaters will be cast into roles by the Show Director based on the same overall skating abilities as listed above for the group numbers as well as tryout results. Skaters agree to accept any role for which they are cast. There are no additional costs for skaters to perform in a solo, feature, duet or trio except for the costs of the costumes.

Additional Show Costs
  • Costumes: a $25 costume deposit will be required at the time of registration. Generally, costumes range from $30-$75+ per number and will be decided by the Show Committee. The total cost for costumes will be paid upon delivery of the costumes. Skaters will have a chance to see costumes prior to ordering; time will be determined by Show Chairpersons. Once costumes are ordered, they are not returnable or refundable.
    • Tickets: Each skater is required to purchase a minimum of 6 tickets at the time of registration.
    • Ticket pricing:
      • Adults & children ages 5+: $10 each
      • Senior citizens (60+): $7 at the door
      • Students (with ID): $7 at the door
    • Tickets may be resold if you cannot use them.
    • Each registered skater will receive one VIP ticket, which grants a guardian of the same gender as the skater access to both performances to assist with costume changes.
    • Additional discounted tickets can be purchased for $10 each up to one week before the show.

Sponsorships
Each family is asked to contact local businesses for sponsorship ads that will be included in the Spring Show program. Sponsorship packets will be handed out later.  In lieu of contacting local businesses, a skater may choose to make a $75 personal donation to the show.
  • Sponsorship Bonus – As an incentive to secure additional business sponsorships, skaters will receive a costume credit based on the total amount of sponsorships collected beyond the $75 minimum requirement.
    • Tiered Business Sponsorship Bonus:
      • $75 – Required minimum; no costume credit
      • $76–$750 – 10% costume credit
      • $751–$1,450 – 12% costume credit
      • $1,451–$2,500 – 15% costume credit
      • $2,501+ – 18% costume credit, up to a maximum credit of $500
      • The applicable percentage will be calculated on the amount collected above the required $75 minimum.

Practice Schedule
Practice schedules for group numbers will be determined after registration and group assignments are finalized. Each group will have a minimum of three (3) practice sessions, approximately 30–45 minutes each or two (2) practice sessions, approximately 60-75 minutes each. Practice times will be based on the number of skaters in each group and the complexity of the choreography.

Most group practices will be scheduled at the following times:
  • Weekdays: 5:00 PM or later
  • Sundays: Morning
  • Saturdays: Following Club Ice
During Spring Show Week, skaters will be required to attend show run-throughs Monday through Thursday. Skaters must remain at each run-through until dismissed by the Show Director or a Show Committee member. If a group is not required to attend on a particular day, the Show Director or Show Committee will notify those skaters in advance.
Friday will be the official Dress Rehearsal, and all skaters will be required to attend in full costume.
A complete practice and Show Week schedule will be provided to all registered skaters once group assignments and rehearsal times have been finalized.

ALL REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY! If you miss one rehearsal for a number and wish to remain in that number, you must contact the coach of the number AND one of the show chairs prior to the rehearsal to notify them of your absence, and you must arrange and pay for a private lesson with the coach to learn the missed material. If you miss more than one rehearsal for any number you may be unable to participate in that number, and you are still responsible for the costume cost.

Costume Measurements
We will be collecting costume measurements after the close of the registration process. Please watch for additional communications via email from events@amesfsc.org.

Senior Solo
Skaters that qualify for a Senior Solo are asked to provide a skater biography along with a senior photo that will be used in the show program and at the rink. Please send this information to the Show Chairpersons by December 31st.  Music for senior solos may be chosen by the skater and reviewed by the Show Director. Music length should coincide with the skater’s freeskate competition level. All choreography should be completed by a Club Coach and be “competition-ready” for the show.

Volunteer Information
