Skating Information

The Ames Figure Skating Club is located at 1507 Gateway Hills Park Drive in Ames, Iowa at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena. We provide skaters of all ages and abilities many opportunities to learn-to-skate or to take their skating to higher levels of skill and enjoyment.  Check out our Membership page for more details on ice times and pricing.

Spring Ice Contracts

Check out our Membership page for more details. Spring Ice Contracts start January 2nd and run through April 30th. Please sign and return to the Club President prior to January 2nd. 
Be sure to check the rink schedule for the latest updates on ice availability. We will continue to email out updates as we get them to our members but it's always a good idea to double check the rink schedule during this time. 

2020 Ice Monitors | Sign Up Here!​

The Ames Figure Skating Club invites you to help keep our skaters safe by signing up to ice monitor for the fall 2020 semester.
  • All-ice contracts - we ask that you sign up for 20 ice monitoring spots per semester. ​Seasonal contracts - we ask that you sign up for 10 spots.
  • AFSC has been asked to assist with sanitizing the arena between events in order to cut down on the transition time.

COVID-19 Ice Arena Policies

​Ames Park and Recreation requires all skaters to follow the following rules/procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic. 
  1. All patrons must follow CDC guidelines on social distancing; follow traffic flow markings.
  2. Everyone entering the facility is required to wear a mask.
  3. People allowed in the rink is limited to coaches, skaters and 1 parent/guardian of younger kids. 
  4. No bags or personal items are allowed
  5. ​All locker rooms are closed
  6. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes before ice time
  7. Take all equipment home
  8. Water bottles are allowed; no drinking fountains are available at the rink​
